The Homestore opened its first store in Wellington in 1991. From its early rustic cottage feel, the shop and the brand have evolved to reflect the changing lifestyles and tastes of our customers. Today we stock a modern range of kitchenware, homeware, bath, bed and culinary products.
The Homestore has 5 shops throughout New Zealand - Wellington led the way, Merivale followed in 1997, Newmarket in 2003, Sylvia Park 2006 and Milford in 2008.
While our products may have changed, the philosophy behind The Homestore has not. We aim to create an inspiring shopping environment for people who are passionate about their homes and cooking. We want our customers to enjoy the experience, have fun, touch and taste and feel comfortable asking questions. At The Homestore you get service without pretension!!

VALUE FOR MONEY
We spend a lot of time sourcing products that are high quality, functional, beautiful and most importantly, value for money. We research the market before selecting a range and often use the products at home before we put them into our stores.
As with most things you buy, "you get what you pay for". You always pay more for a product that will last the distance and perform. It is the same with good quality cookware, appliances or dinnerware. But don't be scared off, our stores are not just full of expensive European product. We also stock a large range of merchandise that is perfect for everyday at a reasonable price.
Value for money not only means purchasing a good quality product. It also means getting the right advice for its use and care before you leave the shop, as well as after sales service should anything go wrong.
CUSTOMER SERVICE – INFORMATIVE & FRIENDLY
Our staff are knowledgeable about the products we sell. We hold weekly training meetings, learning and using items in the store so that we have a hands on appreciation of everything we stock. (Some of us even get into trouble about the amount of product we own, but at least we know what we are talking about!!) And if we don't know the answer we know how to find it.
